ABOUT ME

A Visionary Leader And Unshakable Optimist.

Jean Paul have devoted his entire adult life leveraging #capitalism and #philanthropy to direct attention to people who have been left behind.

Born & Raised on the Island

A gifted student at some of Haiti’s most prestigious private schools, Jean Paul nevertheless succumb to the ennui of middle-class adolescent life, which manifested itself in acts of vandalism and, later, bullying. His merits as a student shielded him from serious disciplinary action until one day, his luck ran out. Releasing insects inside of a packed classroom landed him in the headmaster’s office and earned him an immediate expulsion from the institution. Further, his myriad infractions prevented him from gaining admission to any of the other private, secular schools in Port-au-Prince. But his father, a man of some means, was able to secure his place in a local private school. Jean Paul considers this to be a fortuitous event, as, in that moment, he vowed to turn his life around.

By all appearances, life for Jean Paul was turning around when fortune smiled yet again: his uncle, who is based in New Jersey, was able to secure a Green Card for Jean Paul and his family.

Since his arrival in New York, Jean Paul has taken charge of his academic and professional development while remaining committed to achieving his dream. Though faced with the challenges of living in an unfamiliar culture, Jean Paul was empowered by the values of hard work and discipline with which he was raised.

Blowing Off Steam Through Ballroom Dancing

My passion for ballroom dancing can be traced back to my pre-professional days. Whether as a as a social dancer or competitor, I have been on the ballroom dance path from the start. For me, ballroom dance is not just a passion, It’s something that I take as seriously as any other commitment.

Being in love with and naturally embracing all kinds of music my whole life, whether as a member of my church choir, or singing solo, I decided to join the music industry, with the release of the Unspoken Smiles instrumental song and later a full album. As we rise to the challenge of our new normal of life in a global pandemic, this song is a rallying cry that will inspire listeners worldwide to examine what it means to be a happy human, to voice and express, and to bring people and ideas together. All proceeds of “Unspoken Smiles Song” will go to the foundation to support our work to empower women and children worldwide.

Returning Home with Visions of Aid, Education and Empowerment.

Following the tragic 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Jean Paul, then an undergraduate at NYU’s School of Dentistry, returned to his homeland to deliver critical dental care and supplies to a local village. While there, he was inspired by the unwavering smiles of young children as they played amid the rubble and devastation around them. Many of them were suffering from severe tooth decay.

Looking at these children, Jean Paul resolved to preserve the quality and health of their smiles and those of disadvantaged children around the world—and Unspoken Smiles was born.

An Altruistic Imperative

From this emerges the portrait of one who disputes the platitude that “you can never go home again.” Instead, this young man, who arrived at JFK with a single suitcase and a dream of making a difference in the world, has confounded this cliché by using his diaspora as a springboard for something far greater.
